The Full Story

I imagine you're here because you want to know more about me. Or, at the very least, more than the About Me page illustrates. Consider this page my answer to the proverbial "Tell me about yourself" question.

Road Less Travelled

While I may be a People Operations/HR Professional now, that wasn't always the plan. In fact, I took a non-traditional route through college, older than most students, working throughout and gaining various work and life experiences in the process. I also intended to pursue grad school, putting my degree in Psychology to eventual use as a Clinical Psychologist.

A Pivot

Towards the end of undergrad, I realized I'd need to pivot. My chosen career path was not the one. My empathy and deep connection with others would make it challenging to avoid taking on the problems of the people I sought to help. I also yearned for direct impact on a larger scale. Ultimately, I knew I wouldn't be doing what I had spent years preparing for, but hadn't determined what would replace psychology.

The Outcome

I graduated eager to enter the full-time workforce but uncertain how to translate my work and research experience, passions, and interests into industry. So I dove in, working in the non-profit world and then transitioning to customer insights at a children's toy company. I eventually found my way into People Operations at a tech start-up.

This leads me to today: over five years into my People Operations and Human Resources journey. I now have significant experience that translates beyond the HR field, and into any area needing program and project management expertise with a strategic lens.
